About
Marie Mantz
Pilates Instructor
Marie is a born and raised New Yorker who discovered Pilates through her dance background. Like many instructors, she initially turned to Pilates to build core strength and support her training. She was fortunate to study with exceptional ballet and contemporary dance teachers whose hands-on, technical, and precise approach sparked her lifelong fascination with biomechanics and movement.
Marie began practicing Pilates in 2008 and earned her certification in 2018 through Gramercy Pilates NYC. When she’s not teaching or taking Pilates, you’ll likely find her training in Muay Thai, lifting weights, practicing yoga, bouldering, or trying just about any form of movement that challenges her both mentally and physically.
To Marie, Pilates is one of the best complements to any fitness routine. It builds strength while creating length, improves body awareness, and develops a deeper connection between mind and movement. It’s challenging yet restorative, technical yet accessible, and truly designed for every body.
Her classes are fun, technical, and informative, with an emphasis on proper form, body awareness, and meeting yourself where you are each day. Marie believes that showing up is already half the battle. She encourages clients to listen to their bodies, move without judgment, and remember that movement should feel empowering—not stressful. While you’ll certainly be challenged, her goal is for you to leave every class feeling stronger, more confident, and with a greater understanding of your own body.
